Professional Services Australia was established as a joint venture between the Victorian Medical Insurance Agency (VMIA) and the Australian Dental Association Victorian Branch Inc. in association with the Medical Indemnity Protection Society.
The key stakeholder in PSA, VMIA which was incorporated in 1926 has a clear charter to:

Support organisations associated with the medical and dental professions. This support encompasses education, research, charitable and benevolent projects linked to these professions. Funding for these grants and scholarships are sourced from proceeds generated by PSA Insurance
